And Now We Have a Petition

Yesterday, FTVLive reported that Emerson College School of Journalism removed Marsha Della-Giustina from her faculty advisor for WEBN (the college TV station) because some students didn’t like her.

Chair of the Journalism Department, Janet Kolodzy, said this decision follows a survey that students participating in each of the journalism co-curriculars filled out last school year.

FTVLive wrote that many of the alumni are outraged by this and tell FTVLive that it is another blow to today’s Journalism.

OIne alumn emailed FTVLive and said this was nothing more than a power grab by Janet Kolodzy.

There is now also a petition up on Change.org that says that the reasoning behind Dr. Della Giustina’s removal is disrespectful to her commitment to her students and the College.

The petition is seeking 200 signatures and as of this writing, it already had 89.
