Cleveland Anchor to Announce Retirement
/Sources tell FTVLive that on the first day of ratings (tomorrow), longtime WJW (Cleveland) Anchor Bill Martin is going to announce his retirement from the station.
Martin has been at the station since 1994. He started years ago as the station’s morning anchor before being bumped up to the main shows.
Martin is signing off at the end of the book and is headed to Florida just before the snow really starts flying in Cleveland.
Interesting footnote (ok maybe not so interesting), Martin worked at WPXI in Pittsburgh and a few years later, FTVLive worked at WPXI in Pittsburgh. Also, Martin graduated from Kenmore East High School outside of Buffalo and a few years later, FTVLive graduated from Kenmore East High School.
What we’re trying to say here, Bill Martin is really old.
Kidding…. congrats Bill on the retirement.
BTW- the book hasn’t started yet, so this is all supposed to be a secret until it does. Don’t tell anyone… OK?
