Playing In Traffic

All three Norfolk TV stations will have new Traffic Reporters.

The Virginia Pilot reports that WAVY, WVEC and WTKR are replacing the traffic reporters who left the stations’ early morning newscasts in 2019.

WTKR brought in Ted Noah from a station in Orlando, Fla., to fill the vacancy created when Kristen Crowley departed “News 3 This Morning” after 12 years with the team of Jessica Larche, Blaine Stewart and Myles Henderson.

WAVY hired Madison Glassman formerly of KEZI in Eugene, Ore., to anchor the traffic coverage on “WAVY News 10 Today” with Katie Collett. Don Roberts, Lex Gray and Jeremy Wheeler. She succeeds Jen Lewis who returned to her first love — early morning radio with The Wave 92.9.

WVEC has yet to replace traffic watcher Kristina Robinson who left the area in April. But it won’t be long before the 13 News Daybreakers (Dan Kennedy, Ashley Smith and Craig Moeller) have a new colleague. “We are actively recruiting a traffic anchor," said WVEC newsroom boss Doug Wieder. "We hope to have someone in that role soon.”

Glassman on her Instagram page describes herself as “a Jersey girl, proud Montclair State grad, coffee lover, dog mom and adventurer.” Of coming aboard the Channel 10/Fox 43 duoply she said, “I’m thrilled to be joining this incredibly talented news team to serve the viewers of the beautiful Hampton Roads community.”
