CNN Finishes September in the Basement..... Again

The cable ratings for the very busy news month of September show the same old story.

Fox News leads the way, MSNBC was second and CNN was in their usual last place.

But, what is interesting, despite September being a very busy news month, all three cable nets were down in both total viewers and in the demos.

MSNBC and CNN were down a whopping 30+% in the demos.

Here is the total day breakdown:

TOTAL DAY

FNC: 1,364,000 total viewers – down 3% (230,000 in 25-54 – down 15%)
MSNBC: 880,000 total viewers – down 15% (128,000 in 25-54 – down 34%)
CNN: 624,000 total viewers – down 13% (148,000 in 25-54 – down 31%)

Primetime was pretty much the same story.

Looking at the ratings it shows that viewers are growing tired of the Trump cheerleading (Fox News) and the Trump bashing (CNN, MSNBC) that is a cable news constant.

The viewers have grown tired of the Trump circus, but the cable news stations seem intent on keeping the three-ring circus going, despite the loss in viewership.
