Tegna Parts Way with GM

Word is that Tegna, which took over the Nexstar station WATN in Memphis has parted way with General Manager Joe Denk.

Nexstar spun off WATN as part of the Tribune deal, with the company acquiring the stronger WREG In the market. WATN has been the dog station in the market for years.

Nexstar left the WATN employees and Denk high and dry as they took the reigns at WREG.

WATN was pun off to Tegna and sources say Denk was told he’s out.

Now the question, does Nexstar hire Denk back over at WREG or is he just S-O-L?
