Tampa News Director Bumped to the GM Chair
/WFTS (Tampa) News Director Matt Brown is taking his gingham shirts and moving to Florida’s capital.
As FTVLive told you, Scripps purchased purchased WTXL (Tallahassee) as one of the spin off stations in the Gray/Raycom deal.
Scripps took over the station officially on yesterday and quickly named Brown as the new GM of the station. Brown had been in Tampa as ND since 2014. He came from the Deuce job at KSHB in Kansas City, also owned by Scripps.
It is not taking Brown long to make the move to Tallahassee. Word is that he and his wife close on a new house later today in Tallahassee.
As for WFTS, word is that Assistant News Director Sarah Moore is the acting News Director and bets are she is the odds on favorite to get the job.
