Sinclair Staffer Dies on the Job

Sad news to report out of Amarillo.

KVII AM Director Malcolm Montgomery died while working on the morning newscast.

He was just 27 years old.

The stations says that Malcolm will be remembered for being a calm voice in the stressful storm of helping our morning anchors navigate their way through the Daybreak and Midday newscasts.

"He is a hard worker and even better friend," fellow director and one of Malcolm's best friends David Duenes said. "He will always be a part of me and his touch on this world will not be forgotten.

Other ABC 7 employees also weighed in on the impact Malcolm made on their lives on a day-to-day basis.

“He was always so positive all the time,’’ reporter Darra Cunningham said.

“I never heard him say anything negative about anyone or anything,” morning anchor Anthony Pittman said as he worked to process the events of the morning.
