Raycom is No More

Yesterday, Gray Television sent out a press release saying that it had completed its transaction to takeover Raycom.
Gray launched a new website and if you type in raycommedia.com into your browser, you’re redirected to the Gray website.
With Gray taking over the Raycom stations it is likely there will be some changes made and people will lose their jobs.
But, if you were worried that Raycom CEO Pat LaPlatney might be on the street, you don’t have to.
LaPlatney, formerly Raycom’s President and Chief Executive Officer lands the new role of Gray’s President and Co-Chief Executive Officer.
Raycom’s prior President and CEO, Paul McTear, joined Gray’s Board of Directors.
Raycom is no more, but it appears that the suits made sure they would land softly into cushy new gigs. As for you guys in the newsrooms….keep your head down and your resume updated.
