The Shutdown Impacts TV Stations

The Trump government shutdown is having an impact on TV stations trying to send their filings to the FCC.

FCC filings (required for licenses) are due but due to the shutdown, the FCC website and electronic filing system is down.

Why a website can't still run during a shutdown is confusing, but hey, this is the government we’re talking about.

Word is that FCC has changed the deadline and it will now be 2 days after the government reopens, whenever that might be.

Also, no word on how the shutdown could be delaying the Nexstar/Tribune deal and how much longer it could push the close date back.
