BREAKING: New ND Named In Phoenix

It didn’t take Scripps very long to decide who their next ND will be.

Market veteran Mark Casey will take over the newsroom. Casey was ND and then VP/Station Manager at KPNX-TV from 1999 to 2016. He was then one of the victims of TEGNA’s ‘buyout’ program.

At KNXV-TV, he replaces Chris Kline who left the station weeks ago.

Here’s the memo the GM put out to the staff:

One thing is for sure, the news in Phoenix is about to get more competitive. Casey certainly knows the market. But how many in the newsroom at KNXV will be able to rise to the level of the new accountability?
