I Was Not Surprised in the Least
/When I was growing up, my family was a member of Brookfield Country Club in New York.
I played golf there all the time and there was another member named Chris Collins that I would see at the course often.
I played with Collins more than a few times and his reputation was that he didn't always play by the rules. Golf is a game of integrity and honesty. It is the only sport in which you call penalties on yourself.
One year Collins was playing in a New York State golf event and he was called out for cheating by a former New York State champion.
Yesterday, when the news came down that US Congressman Chris Collins had been indicted on charges of insider trading, it was the least shocking story I had heard in quite some time.
"The charges that have been levied against me are meritless," Collins said after being indicted.
We'll see how that plays out in court, but I can say that judging by his past, I would think the charges against him and dead on.
But hey....that's just me.
