Here We Go Again....
/On Friday, we showed you a clip from KTEN (Sherman, TX) on a story they did a while back about the hardest working cities in the country.
KTEN Anchor Lisanne Anderson started reading the list that had San Francisco at the top as having the hardest working people in the country.
KTEN Anchor Bob Brackeen chimed in saying that the people in San Francisco work hard because they have to pick up, "hypodermic needle and feces" all over the place. Anderson could barely control her laughing at Brackeen snipe at San Francisco.
CBS O&O KPIX in San Francisco picked up on the FTVLive story (screenshot above) and reached out to KTEN for comment? They didn't hear back. (Note: FTVLive Patrons can watch that clip at this link).
On Saturday night, FTVLIve got this email from KTEN General Manager Dave Tillery:
Although we fully believe that this video was used well within the "fair use" guidelines, we did take the video down as Tillery asked us to.
We then asked him if he had any comment of the fact that his Anchor, Bob Brackeen took a shot at the residents of San Francisco in a newscast?
He sent back this reply:
Thank you very much. San Francisco is a beautiful city with an abundance of hard working, intelligent people. We congratulate them on the recognition they received as the hardest working city.
The people of Texas and Oklahoma are also quite proud of their communities, and for good reason. You will simply not find finer people. They are smart, hard working and compassionate. The region has experienced tremendous growth as people throughout the country want to become a part of our communities.
We responded with this:
That's great to say nice things about San Francisco, but I am looking for your comment on your anchor saying the city is full of needles and feces.
Tillery then came back with this reply:
While San Francisco may have problems with homelessness and associated issues, it certainly doesn't represent the city as a whole. I apologize for any comments that inaccurately represent the city.
So, he basically never answered the question about Bob Brackeen's comments.
Bob Brackeen is supposed to be an objective news anchor and not some late night talk show host taking shots at people.
But, looking through Bob Brackeen's tweets it appears that he is not really a fan of the media and is quite a fan of Donald Trump. As you know Trump sees the media as the "enemy of the people."
Although Brackeen works for an NBC affiliate, he's a bigger fan of Fox News. Let's look at some of his tweets about the networks an their coverage:
Not only does it appear that Brackeen doesn't like the "liberal media", he also does not seem to be much of a fan of women.
But forget the whiney women, Brackeen seems to not really be a fan of the Pope either:
Or millennials....
The guy doesn't seem to even like dogs:
As for kids that don't have enough money for food, guess Brackeen wants them to starve:
But, don't think that just because Bob Brackeen, doesn't seem to like San Francisco, the media, women, dogs, poor kids, the pope or millennials, we are happy to report that he doesn't hate everything:
At least he loves the guns in schools.
And to think, for a moment you didn't think he was an objective journalist.
Pfffffffttttttt!
