CNN Continues Ratings Slide

The August numbers show that CNN is continuing to go the wrong way. 

The one time cable news network, turned Trumpster fire finished last once again in August. 

As usual, Fox News walks away with a win, while MSNBC was the only channel to gain viewers in the year to year comparison. 

It should come as no surprise that all 3 cable networks lost key demo viewers, which does not bode well for their future. 

Here are the numbers from Nielsen:

TOTAL DAY:

FNC: 1,299,000 total viewers – down 4% (252,000 in 25-54 – down 17%) 

MSNBC: 1,040,000 total viewers – up 4% (194,000 in 25-54 – down 16%) 

CNN: 705,000 total viewers – down 15% (209,000 in 25-54 – down 24%) 

PRIMETIME: 8-11PM/ET

FNC: 2,299,000 total viewers – up 4% (422,000 in 25-54 – down 9%) 

MSNBC: 1,845,000 total viewers – up 1% (340,000 in 25-54 – down 17%) 

CNN: 1,052,000 total viewers – down 12% (346,000 in 25-54 – down 17%)
