Meredith, Scripps Could Make a Play for Cox

Sources tell FTVLive that Meredith is very interesting in either buying the Cox stations or merging with them to form a new partnership. 

We also hear that Scripps is very interested in at least a few of the Cox stations.

Sources tell FTVLive that Scripps is looking at the Cox stations in Florida, since the company already has a big presence in the Sunshine State, it makes sense. 

Meredith needs to grow or die in today's TV ownership world and the company is hoping to grow. 

Insiders tell FTVLive that Meredith has approached Cox in the past to talk about buying stations. At the time Cox was not selling, now they are. 

But, some insiders think that instead of an outright sale to Meredith, you could see the two companies form a partnership and merge. 

So, will the entire Cox group go to one company? It will the stations be sold off in parts? 

Only time will tell, but don't be surprised that when this is all over that Meredith and Scripps are not involved in one way shape or form.
