Former WTMJ (Milwaukee) News Director Janet Hundley is coming off the beach and moving to NBC O&O WVIT in Hartford.

Hundley parted ways with WTMJ back in December of last year and while she enjoyed some time off, it's time to get back to work.

Here's the internal memo sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:

Join me in welcoming Janet Hundley as our Vice President of News.

Janet has a depth of experience in local television.  She comes to us from Milwaukee, where she was the News Director at WTMJ for almost 4 years. In Milwaukee she built an investigative team to create weekly exclusive, impactful and promotable journalism.  She also is a champion of digital experimentation to evolve content in unique ways on web, social, Roku and other platforms. Prior to Milwaukee she was the Assistant News Director at WLS, the ABC Owned Station in Chicago, for twelve years.  In Chicago she managed and supervised daily editorial content, including investigative and special projects. She also created station social media pages and organized and managed the digital content news team.  Janet was also a News Director at WTVG in Toledo. It was there she was twice awarded the regional RTNDA Murrow for Overall Excellence.   Janet spent time as a journalism professor at Bowling Green State University. She went to college in North Carolina and her career took her to another powerhouse station, WRAL in Raleigh where she was the Fayetteville bureau chief/reporter/photojournalist.  It was at WRAL she was awarded nationally by NPPA for spot news.   She moved from WRAL to WTVD in Durham, NC as a photojournalist, then transitioned to Operations Manager and then Producer.

As you can see, she has a diverse background in several highly regarded stations. Janet will visit us on August 6th and 7th.  She will be with us full time starting August 13th.
