The good news is I got 8 hours of sleep.

The bad news, is that is over a 3 day period.

FTVLive made the long trek back from the NAHJ convention in Miami last night after spending time on the convention floor.

It's always good to poke your head in at the conventions and NAHJ is a good one. I ran into a number of people on the floor, some old friends, old co-workers and of course, I met some new people as well.

I talked to a really nice News Director from Phoenix that admitted that he was scared to talk to me at first. Met another good guy ND from Tampa and got to talk to Alice Jacobs my old News Director at WSVN (now VP of News) and current WSVN ND Tom Gonzalez-Diego. Tommy was an Assignment Editor when we worked together.

Got the chance to talk to Patti Dennis from Tegna and I walked away with no injuries. Actually, I have always liked Patti and the job she does, so it was great to meet up with her.

The Sinclair booth looked like a funeral. A couple of white guys with long faces and not nearly the traffic the other booths were getting. Shocking I know.

I also met a number of young Reporters and Anchors that give me some hope that this industry might not be doomed just yet. I talked to a few 20-somethings that actually get it and are not just in the business to take selfies.

Got to catch up with a few TV agents which is always nice and also meet a few network suits. One person working for CNN came over to me and thanked me for the job I was doing and trying to keep their network accountable.

I did try and shoot a vlog, but had a bit of camera issues, my goal is to edit what I have this weekend and put it up early next week.

But, my biggest goal this weekend is to get some sleep. I'm not feeling well and I'm sure the lack of sleep has something to do with it.

But now, let's do some news....
