When it comes to news set design, it has basically become Devlin Design Group and then everyone else.

Devlin's team did something that has never been done before at the PromaxBDA Station Summit in Las Vegas.

The design company won the award for best news set for the 5th straight year.

Devlin won this year for the set that they designed for WESH in Orlando. The company had another finalist with set they designed for WJAX in Jacksonville. FTVLive has seen the WJAX set in person and we can tell you it is just as impressive in real life as it is on air.

The set includes a very impressive weather center designed for breaking  weather is situated  in  the center of the  set.  The station deals with intense weather, including frequent  severe  summer  storms and hurricanes.

The WESH set is big on technology, featuring 4 50-inch monitors in the breaking weather area and 2 80-inch monitors used for breaking news and to add to the storytelling environment.

“Who could imagine winning the prestigious PromaxBDA Set Design Gold award for five consecutive years? This is the strongest design team in the 30 year history of Devlin Design Group…Team DDG continues to amaze me! We are also very fortunate to work with forward thinking clients like Hearst’s WESH in Orlando.” said Dan Devlin, Owner/Chief Creative Strategist, Devlin Design Group.

Winning the Promax award once is a great achievement, winning it 5 times in a row is dominance.
