The Reaction to Sinclair at NAHJ

While strolling around NAHJ here in Miami, I talked to a number of people and of course the conversation turned to Sinclair. 

The overall view of Sinclair as a company at NAHJ is, say we say, not good. 

Many of the younger Journalists here told me the same thing, "I will never work at a Sinclair station." I heard that over and over again, but if the Sinclair/Tribune deal goes through, that will be giving these Journalists a much smaller pool to swim in. 

As to the Tribune deal and what has happened? "If they (Sinclair) just wasn't so greedy and tried to keep it all, this wouldn't have happened," a top market News Director told FTVLive out the FCC shunning the Sinclair deal. 

Sinclair has a recruiting booth set up on the floor of the NAHJ convention along with most of the other media groups and networks. There were some NAHJ members that pleaded with the NAHJ to bar Sinclair from being allowed to participate. 

This morning, the floor opens up to convention goers. FTVLive will keep an eye on the Sinclair booth and let you know how it goes.
