4 On Air Staffers Leave Nexstar Station
/The job posting board is a busy place at Nexstar owned WTEN in Albany, NY.
The station has lost 4 on air staffers.
The Albany Times Union reports that Reporter Jimmy Marlow is going to Hartford.
Noël McLaren, who anchored the weekend news over at WTEN, is also leaving. She had a baby earlier this year and will "focus on (her) family," according to her good-bye.
Meteorologist Greg Pollak is also leaving Channel 10. He's been bounced around a bit over at the station as WTEN settled into a morning meteorologist. He's now headed over to WNYT to join their weather team.
And, finally, Rachel Yonkunas is leaving. The reporter's contract extension ended and she's looking to move to a larger market, according to Dan Salamone, director of local content development with Nexstar Media Group.
In an email to the staff earlier this week, Salamone wrote "We have a number of openings right now and you should be assured that we are working quickly but intelligently to find new members of the staff that exemplify those that are already here."
Also, if we can pay them less, that's a plus, Salamone didn't add, but should have.
