The 3 Headed Anchor Team in Cleveland

Scripps is hoping that three heads are better than one.

The company owned WEWS says that they are going to go with having 3 Sports Anchors during their newscasts, instead of just one.

According to Dan Coyle, WEWS' creative services director, this is the first time the station has gone this route.

The station has hired Jon Doss and Derek Forrest to join current Sports Anchor Lauren Brill (pictured).

Doss, who hails from the central valley of California, comes to Cleveland by way of Syracuse, then Rochester, where he covered both the NFL's Buffalo Bills and the NHL's Buffalo Sabres, and later spent two years in Bakersfield, California, before getting hired at WEWS.

Forrest is a Brooklyn, New York, comes via the Hazard, Kentucky,  Louisville, and Cincinnati markets.

Now they will become the 3 headed sports anchor team at WEWS.

"I am not saying no one else has done this before," says Doss.

"It's 2018 and local news is changing quite a bit. Derek and I will be co-anchors. We, along with Lauren, will team up on weekends for Sports Sunday. When you can get three people who are competent and can do everything, you don't need one person to be the boss," he said.

But, what about the egos?

Just asking....
