NAHJ: This is Unacceptable Tegna!

Yesterday, FTVLive posted the video of KCEN (Waco) Anchor Chris Rogers referring to the station's Sports Anchor as "our Mexican."

It appears that FTVLive wasn't the only one that thought that this was derogatory and unacceptable, so did the National Association on Hispanic Journalists.

After seeing the FTVLive video, the NAHJ reached out to both Rogers and KCEN owner Tegna.

After the video was posted on FTVLive and being called out by the NAHJ, Rogers responded and issued an appology.

As for KCEN owner Tegna? So far we have seen no comment from them or no action taken.

Remember these comments were made on Friday morning's newscast. Nothing happened until FTVLive posted the video on Tuesday. The idea that Rogers was not called in by his bosses and told that this unacceptable behavior is in itself, unacceptable.

Also, the fact that Rogers did not say he was sorry until being called out by the NAHJ is also disturbing.

If you haven't seen the video, here it is. On a footnote, the NAHJ convention is in Miami this year in July, FTVLive plans on attending.
