NBC Has to Correct False Story

In an effort to be first, but not correct, NBC broke the news that Donald Trump's lawyer Micheal Cohen's phone was tapped by federal investigators.

It was a huge story and many media outlets were scrambling to catch up on the NBC News exclusive. But, it was exclusive, because it was not true. 

NBC's Tom Winter who "broke" the story got it wrong. After the outlets spent time chasing the story, Winter and NBC issued a correction.

The bad report is another black eye for NBC and the media has a whole. President Trump has been calling out NBC time and time again for their reporting and this time it was completely on the mark. 

NBC needs to be doing it better than everyone else as Trump continues to put the focus on them. A mistake like this cost NBC a ton of credibility and it opens them up to more criticism.
