CNN Continues to Bleed Viewers

The cable news ratings for May show that Fox News continues to be the king of the hill, MSNBC is second and CNN is marred in last place.

According to Nielsen all the cable news channels were down in total day over last year. Fox and MSNBC were barely down, but CNN dropped a whopping 20% overall and an astounding 27% in the demos.

Here is a look at total day ratings:

TOTAL DAY:

FNC: 1,394,000 total viewers – down 2% (279,000 in 25-54 – down 7%)
MSNBC: 914,000 total viewers – down 1% (196,000 in 25-54 – down 11%)
CNN: 655,000 total viewers – down 20% (198,000 in 25-54 – down 27%)

In prime time, FNC was the only channel to show an increase and CNN was the only channel that could not crack a million viewers. Also, the fact that CNN lost 34% in the demos has to have some at CNN more than a bit worried.
