KMAX "Good Day Sacramento" Reporter Sean Bennett is signing off from the station after 6 years.
Bennett is leaving TV journalism in favor of an unspecified field with more typical hours.
His 20 years in journalism have been split almost evenly between 2 p.m. to midnight shifts and his current early morning hours.
"I've decided to come out of my comfort zone and try something completely new, get something out of the TV business," he said in a "Good Day Sacramento" broadcast. "I'm going to try something on a schedule (with) hours that I've never had."
Bennett began working for "Good Day Sacramento" and KMAX in May 2012 after 3 1/2 years at KTXL.
