When You Sellout to Sinclair
/When Sinclair boss David Smith sat down with the NY Times to try and defend Sinclair's indefensible promo that forced their Anchors to read Donald Trump talking points and company propaganda he made this claim.
Smith told the Times the promotional segments “were tested by a well-recognized research firm in this industry.”
That "well-recognized research firm" is Magid.
FTVLive has seen parts of the "research."
Magid has been in the TV consulting business since 1957 and to be honest we never thought that we would see a TV consultant do research in which it basically attacks media companies besides Sinclair.
Is Magid selling its soul to try and line their pockets with Sinclair's money?
Does Magid really believe that some of the non-Sinclair stations that are also using them really, push "their own personal bias and agenda"? That's what Sinclair claims the reserach shows.
On their website, Magid has a page called "Magid Mentions." The page is nothing more than a place that they can brag about the stories that their company was mentioned in.
It's funny we didn't seem to find any links to the stories that included their research project for Sinclair.
Are they embarrassed? Ashamed?
Maybe they can include this story in their mentions.
Maybe not.
Are TV stations that are not Sinclair comfortable with the fact that Magid's research basically says that they are a "threat to our democracy"?
Just asking....
BTW- In that NY Times story they link to a story that FTVLive FIRST broke, but they give us no props, just the link.
What the fuck is up with that?
