Hitting the Air in the Windy City

Back in February, FTVLive told you that  KGW (Portland) Anchor Joe Donlon was going to be hired at WGN in Chicago.

Tonight he finally goes on the air to Anchor his first newscast in the Windy City. 

Donlon officially starts Today as weeknight news anchor at the Tribune soon to be Sinclair station. 

At 5PM this evening, he will slide into the chair next to Micah Materre to do what he hopes is his first of many, many newscasts. 

“I will have to start over, and prove myself every day in a city that doesn’t know me,” Donlon, 55, told Facebook friends. “But I am beyond excited about what’s ahead. I can’t begin to tell you how honored and humbled I am to join such an incredibly talented team. It is truly one of the best TV news jobs in the country.”
