Fake News
/Close might count in horseshoes and hand grenades, but not in TV news.
NBC's Hoda Kotb was doing a sweet story on a woman named Kaitlyn Kiely, who ran the Boston Marathon route a week early while pushing her paralyzed boyfriend, Matt Wetherbee.
Kotb said that, "Kaitlyn wanted to show Matt that nothing had changed," Hoda told viewers. "That she was going to be with him no matter what." She then added, "Yesterday morning, they went to that starting line and they covered the entire 26.1 mile course," the anchor continued. "It took 6-and-a-half hours, and while she was running Kaitlyn said, 'I just love looking down and seeing him there the whole time, it makes me feel like I can't stop."
It was a heartwarming story, except for the fact that Hoda left off a tenth of a mile on the length of a marathon and boy did viewers let her know.
Damn! People are so picky.
