Blindsided in Miami

WTVJ morning Anchor Eric Harryman signed off Friday after three years with the NBC O&O.

Toward the end of the broadcast, he said, “No words to say,’’ and asked viewers to keep watching the team, “stick with them. They are the best of the best.”

On Friday, his Co-Anchors wore yellow — he likes bananas — as a tribute to him.

The Sun Sentinel says that Harryman is heading back to his native California with his wife and children.

Station sources tell FTVLive that Harryman was completely blindsided. "He was in the process of renegotiating and had also received a verbal confirmation of contract renewal too," said one station source to FTVLive.

It seems that the station decided to end negotiations and cut the popular Anchor loose.

Harryman was very popular inside and outside the station.
