Longtime KUSI consumer Reporter Michael Turko says he has pounded his fist for the last time on the news desk at the San Diego station.

Turko, known for angrily pounding his fist on the table and yelling “It ain’t right” did his last “Turko Files” report last night.

"After almost 20 years I am retiring from KUSI-TV and the news business this coming Friday. It’s been a great run!" he said.

“I will miss it all,” Turko added, “but it is time for me to move on.”

He is declining interview requests. “I’m going to become a very private figure very shortly and I’m asking all my fellow journalists to respect that,” he told me. “There will be no exit interviews. No greatest hits. Just a quiet departure from public life. Ahhhh… peace and quiet!”

How refreshing is that?
