A WEEK Sign Off

Looks like he will no longer play in Peoria...

After 30 years, WEEK Anchor Garry Moore is signing off  “25 News Today” morning newscast on April 13th.

Moore’s 30-year tenure on the show makes him the longest-running morning anchor in central Illinois broadcast history, the station noted.

“When you think local morning news in central Illinois, everyone thinks of Garry Moore,” said 25 station manager Mark DeSantis.

Moore started his broadcast career as a news reporter for Peoria radio station WXCL-AM in 1979, later becoming news director. In April of 1985, he joined at WEEK as a television reporter.

WEEK plans a “Good-Bye, Garry” celebration throughout most of April as he prepares for life after television.
