Nexstar Newscast is Tanking in the Ratings

WIVB in Buffalo has spent a lot of time and money promoting their new 6:30 p.m. newscast on sister station WNLO.

So far, it seems to have been a waste of both.

The newscast anchored by Dave Greber and Christy Kern averaged a 0.65 rating for the first four weeks and it doesn't appear to be growing. It hit a high of a 1.0 rating in the second week and fell to a 0.5 and a 0.6 in the following weeks. It averaged a 0.3 rating through Thursday of week five.

The Buffalo News writes that if the ratings don't improve quickly, station management may have to decide whether to move the newscast to 7 p.m. or cancel it.
