Scripps Sacks People and Shows

Yesterday, FTVLive FIRST told you that Scripps owned KMTV (Omaha) is swinging the ax.

Now we have some details.

Sources tell FTVLive that the company whacked the Midday and the 4PM newscasts. The 5pm is going to be some Scripps national product that may or may not have a 3-5 minute local news slot. 6pm show is now one hour long and 10pm news remains the same.

On the weekends, the early evening newscasts are being whacked as well.

As for jobs? No final body count, but we’re told that The Assistant ND an the Digital Manager were part of those cut.

Show changes go into effect on January 14th.

After announcing the latest round of layoffs, the GM offered to bring in sandwiches the next day because it's been a "tough time."

Happy Holidays!
