Nexstar Kills YouTube Stream
/FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that popular KRON Reporter Stanley Roberts was leaving the station.
Roberts left the station after negotiations with Nexstar turned ugly and after Roberts claimed that Nexstar stole his trademark.
Roberts fronted the “People Behaving Badly” segments that were a favorite of viewers. After negotiations fell apart, Roberts left for a a gig in Phoenix.
Before Roberts could take down his past stories from YouTube at KRON’s owner Nexstar’s request, the company had YouTube delete Roberts entire channel on the social media outlet.
But, this week, a hardcore fan of the “People Behaving Badly” segments started streaming every single episode of "People Behaving Badly" back-to-back on YouTube.
The channel under the name “Robley Stanerts“ says it four days worth of content. And, on top of that, a new "People Behaving Badly" standalone video is uploaded to the YouTube channel every 30 minutes.
"I didn't know about it until you told me just now," Roberts told SFGATE on the phone Wednesday.
Roberts was surprised someone would go through the effort of saving all of his videos and reposting them.
"People are trying their best to keep what I had going," he said.
But, the channel did not last long.
KRON made a copyright claim and YouTube killed the channel.
Roberts may not have left his heart in San Francisco, but he did leave some TV news segments that viewers loved. But, thanks to Nexstar, it looks like no one will get to see them.
