FOX Divided: Journalism vs Opinion

Last week, FTVLive told you about the controversy surrounding Sean Hannity appearing on stage for President Trump. After our story, Hannity sent out an email saying he would NOT appear on stage. Of course, when it came down to it, Hannity did go on-stage to promote the president.

That did not go unnoticed by Fox’s journalists. According to the Washington Post, there are a lot of uncomfortable anchors and reporters who feel the opinion hosts are negatively impacting their journalism.

But there’s also a divide at the top. Murdoch and his son, Lachlan are said to be very involved with the content of Fox News Channel, while according to the Post, James Murdoch has told friends he’s embarrassed by what’s on Fox News.

Regardless, the move by Hannity with POTUS was basically an “F-U” to executives who have said such activity by on-air talent, is not acceptable. Still, it appears nothing is going to happen to Hannity for not following Fox rules.
