WBBH in Ft. Myers sent a crew of 5 to the panhandle to cover the the hurricane as it made landfall.

The station’s Chief Meteorologist Allyson Rae was one of those sent along to cover the storm first hand.

But, Rae did not comeback from the hurricane empty handed.

While covering the storm, Rae rescued a poor dog that was loose after the storm. "The next morning when the sun came up and saying, 'Where do we go from here,' one of our co-workers found her," Rae said, describing the moment a new friend entered her life. "She is the friendliest dog."

Rae took that dog to the vet, and she'll soon be up for adoption.

Better yet, we think Rae needs to keep her new friend and give it the loving home it deserves.
