Just Stop...

Oprah Winfrey stood up at the Golden Globes and gave by all accounts a moving speech.

And many in the media named her the next President of the United States.

Really?

Is that where the bar now is set? 

Does one speech at an awards show make you a Presidential contender? 

CNN media critic Brian Stelter nearly wet himself with Oprah 2020 talk. He wasn't the only one, but Stelter spent almost all day yesterday working as Oprah's unofficial campaign manager that it was nauseating.

Stelter penned a column titled, "Sources: Oprah Winfrey 'actively thinking' about running for president"

Actively thinking? 

Oprah could "actively be thinking" about eating a piece of Eli's Cheesecake. I'm not sure that's news.

This country is still trying to digest and recover from the 2016 elections and Stelter and the rest of cable news wants to start the 2020 elections more than 2 years early. 

Just to be clear, I am also not saying if I'm running in 2020, but I'm also not ruling it out. 

Give it a rest guys! Nobody needs this. 

If Tom Brady wins the Super Bowl and gives a victory speech, will Stelter and the rest be naming him as a contender for 2020? 

What if Homer Simpson says something really good? Will he be Oprah's VP choice? 

Oprah has not said she's running, she gave a speech and that was it. 

At this point, cable news has become a parody of itself. I have so sobering news for you guys, viewers are no longer watching you, they're laughing at you. 

Step out into the real world, talk to real viewers and see how they feel about you? I promise you, it will be a real wake up call. 

Seriously....just give it a rest.
