Fire Knocks Cable Station Off the Air
/i24 News, the global news channel that is quickly gaining more distribution on US cable systems, had it’s NY based programming knocked off the air by a manhole fire.
The fire underneath Times Square apparently burned through key fiber lines feeding into the i24 News NY studios in the Thomson-Reuters building.
Managing editor David Shuster tweeted out a note to viewers acknowledging the channel’s live programming from NY, for now, is being replaced.
Sadly for viewers, CNN was not affected.
