Fire Knocks Cable Station Off the Air

i24 News, the global news channel that is quickly gaining more distribution on US cable systems, had it’s NY based programming knocked off the air by a manhole fire.  

The fire underneath Times Square apparently burned through key fiber lines feeding into the i24 News NY studios in the Thomson-Reuters building.

Managing editor David Shuster tweeted out a note to viewers acknowledging the channel’s live programming from NY, for now, is being replaced. 

Sadly for viewers, CNN was not affected.
