That Will Shock the System
/WTMJ in Milwaukee has hired a new Weather Anchor and boy did she pick a bad time to move to beer town.
Meteorologist Elissia Wilson was working for the Alabama News Network, doing broadcasts for the ABC and CBS affiliates in Montgomery.
Now, she's on the air in Milwaukee in the middle of Winter.
The Milwaukee Journal says that Wilson joined the station as a full-time meteorologist in early December, but she wasn't on the air until the week of Christmas, WTMJ general manager Joe Poss said Tuesday.
Before Alabama, Wilson was a forecaster in Panama City, Fla.; Columbus, Ga.; and Fort Smith, Ark., and was a radio broadcast meteorologist with The Weather Channel. She earned her degrees at Mississippi State and Georgia Southern universities.
Wilson joined WTMJ at the end of a year of change for the station's weather team. Josh Wurster joined WTMJ as a meteorologist in June, and longtime weather guy and feature reporter Scott Steele left in September, after a decade with the station and more than 20 years on the air in Milwaukee.
