Sinclair Sitting On Info FCC Needs For Tribune Merger Approval

It seems the Sinclair/Tribune merger is being held up and Sinclair has no one to blame but themselves.

B&C reports that the FCC has yet to restart the 180-day shot clock on its vetting of the proposed Sinclair-Tribune merger, but that is because Sinclair has yet to submit the info the FCC wants to vet.

Sinclair said it would be filing new divestiture applications and amendments related to the deal and the Justice Department's antitrust review.

But, it appears that Sinclair is dragging its feet when it comes to submitting the new information that is needed.

FTVLive hears that Sinclair is still trying to close the deal with Fox Television to buy around 10 stations from them. It seems the two sides are still trying to negotiate the final terms of the deal.

Stay tuned...
