This past weekend, KDVR, the Tribune, soon to be Sinclair, soon to be Fox owned station added some new newscasts.

The station tacked on a new weekend edition of "Daybreak." The new newscast airs Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Channel 2 also has successful weekend newscasts from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The reason this is done is that the station believes they can sell more inventory in that spot in they put news in there. It is all about making money.

But, let's see what rationale they give for adding the extra newscasts?

“Coloradans are very active on weekends and I’m really excited about the opportunity to keep them up-to-date on breaking news, weather, and what they need to know to enjoy their Saturdays and Sundays,” said news director Brian Gregory. “I think our viewers will appreciate being able to get their weekends started with Colorado’s Own Channel 2.”

Ummmmm....ok.
