Yesterday, FTVLive FIRST told you that struggling WGCL had parted ways with GM Mark Pimentel.

The Meredith station has now named Lyle Banks (pictured) as it's next victim....errrr.... General Manager.

WGCL is the station that can't get out of its own way. Every time the station takes a step forward, it takes two steps back.

It will be interesting to see if Banks will continue to let Anchors Sharon Reed and Ben Swann run the newsroom from the anchor desk. Or will he step in and restore some order to the leadership and how things are run?

“Lyle is a proven leader who has achieved tremendous success in both news and sales. Lyle is a strategic thinker who isn’t afraid to take chances, and we are looking forward to great things at CBS46 and Peachtree TV under his leadership. He understands what it takes to win,” said Meredith Local Media Group President Paul Karpowicz said in a press release.

At this point, it's not about winning. It's about moving the station out of last place and restoring some respectability to the dog station.

If Banks can do that, it will be a success.
