Here Comes Irma

While the impact of Hurricane Harvey is still being felt and the first part of a very long clean up has begun, now here comes Irma. 

With the FTVLive World Headquarters in the state of Florida, we may have a front row seat to this powerful storm. 

I can say, that the impact of Harvey is already having the people in Florida acting differently. The media can warn people about a storm until they are blue in the face, but when the folks in Florida saw what happened in Texas, it opened their eyes. 

Stores here in Florida are already seeing a huge run on water and can goods. I watched as my neighbor starting putting reinforcements around the palm tree in his yard. While he was doing that, the neighbor across the street was loading 4 gas cans into the trunk of her car. 

I have covered storms in Florida for years. I was in the middle of Hurricane Andrew. This is the first time I have seen the people in Florida prepare this early and this much for a hurricane. 

As I said the media can warn people all day long, but it was the images coming out of Texas that have people's attention. 

Today, FTVLive will do a bit of storm prep around the house as well. Here's hoping that Irma stays away, but still, we need to prepare like she is stopping by for a visit.
