Former Seattle Reporter Suing Sinclair Station

Back in January of this year, Sinclair owned KOMO in Seattle kicked longtime consumer/investigative Reporter Tracy Vedder to the curb.

Now, Vedder is firing back in a lawsuit against the station and Sinclair.

Vedder is suing, claiming the television station unlawfully breached her contract and engaged in gender and age discrimination toward her.

The 60-year-old Vedder spent 22 years at KOMO when the station decided to eliminate her job. “We are losing some of our strongest staff,” a KOMO staffer said in a tweet as Vedder and others were showed the door.

After Vedder was told she was being sacked, Sinclair’s vice president of news Scott Livingston said, “It’s certainly a difficult situation and it is necessary from time to time to restructure some aspects of news operations and station operations.”

There was still enough money in the budget to offer up $4 billion dollars for the Tribune stations and hire and pay Boris Epshteyn.

No word on how much Vedder is asking for in the lawsuit.
