NBC Worried about Megyn Kelly in the Morning

To any regular readers of FTVLive this story will not come as a surprise.

The Daily Beast says that NBC is quietly worried that hiring Megyn Kelly away from Fox News, might have been a mistake.

“A lot of people were watching the magazine show to try to get a sense of her appeal to the daytime demographic and a sense of how she would be outside of the Fox environment,” said a veteran daytime television impresario, who noted that the nationwide audience in that time period is not only heavily female but from 25 to 30 percent African American and Latino. “Fox News skews very male… I always tend to think of her as more of a guy’s girl than a girl’s girl… It’s extremely challenging, and I’m not sure Megyn’s personality really connects with women.”

Sources say there is "total panic" at NBC over Kelly heading to the Today Show.

Kelly was perfect at Fox News and their viewers, which consisted of many over 50, angry white males loved her.

But, that is not the person that watches morning TV and that has NBC scared that Kelly might flop.

Sources tell FTVLive that NBC is really working hard to "soften up" Kelly in her early shows on NBC mornings, to try and get her to connect with females.

Not sure that will do it.

If they only read FTVLive 8 months ago, maybe they would not be in as much of a panic right now.

Just saying....
