Sinclair Tries to Defend Tribune Merger

While many have spoken out against the Sinclair/Tribune deal, Sinclair is responding back.

In a new letter filed with the FCC, Sinclair says.... and get this....their deal to buy Tribune will benefit the public, "by advancing the health and sustainability of free, over-the-air broadcast TV..."

The letter then adds that merging with Tribune will help them, "invest in unique programming that addresses the news, information, and public safety needs of local communities."

Unique programming must be Boris Epshteyn BS, along with that from Buster Hyman.

As for public safety? I'm not sure the "Terrorism Alert Desk" quite fits that bill. But nice try.

You can read the full FCC filing here, but it reads as just more bullshit propaganda if you ask us.

The Sinclair/Tribune deal is not good for the employees, the viewers or the advertisers. It is only good for Sinclair.

That single line is all the FCC needs to read when it comes to this deal.
