Crying Sports Anchor Lands New Gig

You may remember the video of WKBW Sports Anchor Nick Filipowski signing off from the Buffalo station.

He was crying as he talked about how much he loved Buffalo, the people, the sports and how he was going to miss it all so much when he left.

Well, he's landed a new job and guess what? It's right down the street in Buffalo at WIVB.

Yep, the guy that cried has moved just a couple miles down the road.

When Filipowski made his tearful goodbye, many viewers figured he was fired from WKBW. But KB GM Mike Nurse said that was not the case. "Nick informed us several months ago of his intention to not renew his contract," Nurse said 3 weeks ago. "He made it clear he wanted to pursue other opportunities outside of Buffalo. I personally asked him if he wanted to reconsider a month ago."

But now, he didn't leave Buffalo.

WIVB General Manager Dominic Mancuso said: "It’s a great opportunity to add someone who knows the market, the teams, the players and can hit the deck running with a passion for Buffalo sports.  He will be on the air later this week."

No word if the folks at WKBW are crying foul?
