A Greenville Anchor is not being demoted, she just wants to spend more time with her family....OK?
Heather King is stepping away from her daily anchor duties on WITN News at Sunrise, but she is getting a new role at the station as a Reporter.
WITN says that King will do doing special reports and coverage which will be shared on WITN News at Sunrise and other newscasts.
After Anchoring for 15 years at the station, King says it's time to spend more time with the family.
"The kids are growing up quickly, as children do, and I feel like now is the time to have more meaningful time with them and with my husband," Heather said.
"Stepping away from my daily anchoring duties was a difficult decision," Heather said. "I hope you can tell how genuinely I love this job. This show. How much I love my co-workers…. the many faces you see on the air and the ones behind the scenes… especially my buddy Jim, whom I've sat next to since getting this first job out of college here at the age of 22. I have been blessed to work with a person with as much integrity, kindness, and passion for his work as Jim Howard. It is truly difficult to give up the seat next to him."
