Out the Door in Sacramento

A Sacramento Weather Anchor is leaving the TV business and headed back to school. 

Sort of....

After 20 years at at KOVR/KMAX, Laura Skirde, a prominent part of “Good Day Sacramento” and other CBS 13 newscasts, is leaving the station.

Skirde has accepted a position as director of communication for the Beverly Hills Unified School District beginning June 5.

She signed off for the last time yesterday, sending out this tweet the night before:

Before working in Sacramento, she worked in Austin, Texas. She began her career in weather forecasting at stations in Peoria, Ill., and Casper, Wyo.
