Is it the Beginning of the End of the Fox News Ratings Reign?
/It appears that viewers are tuning out Fox News as the network hosts have tried to downplay the news that Trump asked FBI Director James Comey to make the Michael Flynn investigation go away.
Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity have played President Trump cheerleaders and it appears that viewers are growing tired of the act.
On Tuesday night, MSNBC averaged the most total viewers from 8 to 11 p.m. Eastern time (2.481 million), while CNN ranked first in the 25-54 age demographic prized by advertisers (719,000). Fox News ranked second in total viewers Tuesday night and third in the 25-54 demo for the second night in a row.
The idea that Fox News fell to number 3, shows that with O'Reilly gone and Carlson and Hannity saying Trump can do no wrong, viewers have grown bored and are tuning out.
While Fox News has covered the Comey story during the day, Carlson and Hannity have either ignored it, or downplayed the news. It is stange to watch Fox News during the day and then see the tone completely shift at night.
Fox News remains the number one cable news station, but a shift is happening and the blame maybe at the feet of Hannity and Carlson.
Somewhere, Bill O'Reilly has a huge smile on his face.
