Weatherman Still Employed After Facebook Debacle

Last week, FTVLive told you about WKYT weatherman Micah Harris' refusal to answer a viewer's question about tornadoes, on Facebook. Harris told the viewer that Facebook pays him $0, so his forecasts are only going to be seen on WKYT.

That didn't go over too well with the social media audience, and comments started blowing up about Harris' rude behavior.  At another TV station concerned with their image and reputation, Harris would have probably been fired or at least suspended. Not at the Gray station.

Sources tell FTVLive that Harris is the golden boy of news director Robert Thomas, and after he didn't renew the contract of Harris' predecessor, he's determined to make it work.

Someone may want to tell Harris that social media is now part of TV culture, as evidenced by his own bio on the station website, inviting viewers to 'connect' with him on Facebook and Twitter.

As our boss said, if it were up to us, Harris would be making $0, period.
